Public Art Commissions
LAUNCH, 2006-2007 (commission: $60,000, client: Pinnacle, North Vancouver, BC)
On the former Versatile Shipyards adjacent to the Lonsdale Quay and the downtown business district of North Vancouver, Launch is comprised of three vertical elements: a container or vessel form (or entrance way), construction scaffolding and a nestled hull, made from anodized welded aluminum. The artwork is read from bottom to top as a narrative of shipyard construction and thematic of the site history.

MOTHER TONGUE, 2004-2005 (commission: $12,000, client: RCMP, City of Surrey, BC)
RCMP: new Guildford detachment. Words, selected from the RCMP vision statement (i.e., integrity, respect, empowerment, etc.), make the forms that are laser cut metal, based on mother tongue languages. The artwork champions the identities and individualities of diversity; linked together and reinforced through the RCMP’s tradition of bridging community strengths.

TIMEKEEPERS, 1999-2001 (commission: $30,000, client: North Vancouver, BC)
City of North Vancouver first major public art commission. The project accompanies the rehabilitation of a significant downtown park thoroughfare, a key pass-through between the downtown core and an existing waterfront development, Lonsdale Quay. Fabricated from laser cut stainless steel, the installation consists of six life-sized figurative silhouettes positioned at specifically chosen points on a grand staircase. The work describes personal histories and relationships to place through images and text, composed and layered on the surface of each sculptural form.

SPAN, 1999-2000 (commission: $238,600, client: City of Richmond, BC)
The signature public artwork accompanying the new architectural design for its City Hall. Fabricated from laser cut stainless steel and corten steel, the work consists of five free-standing sculptural elements prominently placed on the exterior public plaza.

CONVERGING LINES, 1997-1998 (commission: $15,000, client: City of Vancouver)
Utility poles and cables were chosen so as to blend with the existing environment. Laser cut stainless steel elements hung on wire cables between the poles describe a vernacular of people, houses and domesticity.

WOODLAND CIRCLES, 1996-1997 (commission: $3,000, client: City of Vancouver)
Eight copper and cement in-ground artworks mark the trees which had grown in the forest, similar in dimension and shape.
